Some Useful Texas Lingo!

Now that spring is here it just seems like our schedules are fillin’ up faster everyday.  So Texas Treats thought you might like to learn a few good ol’ Texas sayings that will help you get your point across real fast in any conversation!

– Busier than a set of jumper cables at a redneck picnic.
–  Busier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest.
–  As useful as a pogo stick in quicksand.
–  That dog won’t hunt. (means, it won’t work)
–  Don’t squat with your spurs on.
–  My cow died last night, so I don’t need your bull.
–  Hotter than a goat’s behind in a pepper patch.
–  He’s all broth and no beans.

That is what we love about Texas!  Our sayings get to the point and leave no doubt as to what we mean!  Another way to help you get quickly to the point is to personalize your Texas gifts and  Texas gift baskets!   Who doesn’t love seeing their name in print, especially when it is on a Texas souvenir?

Put their name on the jar!

We all remember that special gift Aunt Susie gave us that had our name on it.  Now you can make your Texas gift extra-special by personalizing your Salsa and Texas shape Tortilla Chips with an individual’s name, company name, logo or event!

Here are some personalization ideas from Aunt Susie herself:

To soldier with love – Send a soldier a box filled to the brim with personalized  Texas snacks!  Texas Treats offers USPS flat rate boxes jam-packed with Texas fun and tastes of home — Texas chips and salsa, Texas snack mix, peanuts, granola bars to name a few items.  If your soldier is needing a specific item, please don’t hesitate to tell us and we’ll happily go the extra mile to add it to this box.

Remind them of their proud Texas heritage!

Baby gifts – Welcome that new little Texan into the world or let them know their Texas kinfolk are thinking of them with our “Some one in Texas loves me” onesie or a Texas flag bib!!

Wedding favors – Personalized Texas goodies and Texas souvenirs make  unique, one-of-kind party favors for your Texas wedding guests.  Sugar cookies and Texas-shaped tortilla chips & salsa that can be personalized with the bride and groom’s name and wedding date.  For a distinctly different favor idea, give your guests  the Speak Texan Book and it  will keep your guests talking long after the reception!

Corporate gift baskets or as Aunt Susie calls them, “Thank you kindly for your business”  baskets – Give them a basket filled with enough goodies to feed everyone in the break room! Put you logo on Texas sugar cookies and you can be sure your name will be on everyone’s lips for a long time! These cookies are also great little give aways at conventions and on sales calls!

House Warming gifts – send our Home on the Range Basket and be sure to personalize the salsa label with their new address for a special touch!

Need more ideas?  Just give us a call or drop us an email!  We will help you find even more ways to personalize your gifts, save you some shopping time and get your point across!
