Heroes, Heartthrobs, and Dorkfish?

Texans are proud folk, and we have every reason to be. Not only is Texas the home to the National Aeronautics and Space Association, but it is also the birthplace of BBQ and salsa. In a single day you can drive west to east from desert lands and mountains to swamp lands and pine trees. Or you could start up north where it snows every winter and head south to find warm, sandy beaches and a cabana calling your name.

But diverse landscapes and unpredictable weather aren’t the only things Texas is known for. Did you know we also have some of the most famous dads in American history? Watched Celebrity Apprentice lately? If so, the name JOHN RICH might ring a bell as the winner…Yeah, he’s from Texas. Not to mention Baseball Hall-of-Famer Nolan Ryan was born here, as well as rapper Usher and comedian Bill Engvall. Allow me to introduce you to, the Dorkfish…

Still not impressed? Here are some more Texas Dads you might recognize…

Actors Jamie Foxx, Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, and Forest Whitaker.

Musicians Don Henley and George Strait. Athletes Drew Brees, LaDanian Tomlinson, and Shaquille O’Neal. Business tycoon T. Boone Pickens and Hero of the Hudson,  Chelsey Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger III.

Of course, all Texas dads don’t have their own Wikipedia page, but that doesn’t mean they are any less famous in the eyes of those who love them. And that’s what we’d like to know. Tell us a little bit about YOUR dad, and what makes him the Texas’ Best Dad!
