Celebrities Who Say Yee-Haw!

What does the diva Beyonce Knowles, actor Matthew McConaughey, and rock ballet writer Meat Loaf all have in common. If you said, “Duh.. they’re famous!” you’re half way right. The other half of their connection is that all three celebrities are from the texas-flag-magnetgreat state of Texas. Here’s some fun information on how Texas helped launch these celebrity superstars.

  • Beyonce, today’s diva, was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Beyonce’s famous dance moves were developed at St. Mary’s Elementary School in Fredericksburg, Texas where she enrolled in her first dance class. Knowles talent continued to grow so she moved to the music magnet Parker Elementary School and the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. Beyonce was born to be a superstar, but Texas certainly helped to bring it out of her.
  • Matthew McConaughey is a proud Texan through and through. He was brought up in Longview, Texas just east of Dallas where he attended Longview High School. After graduating high school he went to the University of Texas where he studied Radio-Television-Film. McConaughey was known to call himself DJ Kidd Kraddick to get special treatment at the bars and restaurants in Dallas. Even though McConaughey works in Hollywood he still lives and plays in Texas. He recently settled into a new home that looks over Lake Austin in Austin, Texas.

Another element that binds these three celebrities together is their love for a Texas BBQ.
