A debate rages over a very important topic – the pronunciation of the word Pecan. Like the linguistic skirmishes of old over words like tomato or caramel, this fight continues without any end in sight. Pecan can be pronounced Pee-can, Puh-cawn, Pee-kahn, or a number of different variants. Take a look at the map below that lays out the pronunciation differences in a color-coded manner.
Here at Texas Treats, we take no sides. (Well, unless you say PEE-can…that’s just wrong!) We welcome anyone who agrees that pecans smothered in sugary goodness are a tasty treat good in any season. The praline brings people together who cannot agree on other important topics. While people may sound different pronouncing Pecan, we all sound the same when our lips are smackin’ on the chewy morsel that resides in our Texas Treat packaging.
Like a little spice with your sugar? Try our Habanero Pralines that combine the fire of the Habanero pepper with the sweetness of sugar. Sound strange? Well, so did a lot of things until you tried them. I mean, who would have thought fried chicken and waffles would be such a big hit? Now, you can buy Chicken and Waffles chips! While that may take it a step too far, you understand what we mean. Things that you’ve never thought would go together can be a match made in heaven.
There are plenty of options to choose from in our Praline section. Don’t take my word for it, check out the Texas Treats site! You can buy a basket full of them for a client, give them to wedding guests as a thank you, or buy just a single bag to tide you over until the holiday season. With the State Fair just around the corner, think about trying our State Fair sampler basket that comes with pralines.
Whatever option you end up choosing, know that you can’t go wrong with a tasty praline!
