Museum Season

With winter weather still going strong, having activities to keep kids occupied and avoid cabin fever is very important. Texas Treats understands this situation, and is here to help join with ya in the fight to keep kids happy! After some browsing and brainstorming, we decided that museums  would be the best option for an open weekend visit to keep your family occupied while they learn about the wider world. It’s the best of both worlds!

Of course, there are literally hundreds of museums in this great state. From the cultured to the wacky, you can find a site just for your tastes. The big cities have some of the more well known options, but that doesn’t mean that smaller Texas towns don’t have great places. For a good list of different museums, check out this Wikipedia page to browse through your region’s choices.

In Dallas, the Perot museum is a great new museum that has plenty of interactive features sure to engage all ages. For Houston residents, there is a great Children’s Museum that features an exhibit called Invention Convention that allows children to create their own toys and mechanisms. Of course, San Antonio features the Alamo and Austin has the State capitol along with the Texas State History Museum. Way out west in El Paso there are several msueums, including the Insights Science Center. So, whatever city you live near there is a good chance you have a cool place to spend an afternoon!

Happy museum hunting!
