Embrace the Chance to Love

TX Treats - Helping homeless - labeled for reuseIn the midst of all of the Valentine’s festivities, it’s important to remember others who may need to be shown a little extra love. All across the Lone Star state there are opportunities to give back to your community by helping those who are in need. Unique charities and non-profits all across the state provide people with the chances to love, serve, and give back.

Are you crazy about those fur-faced, four-legged rascals? Consider volunteering at your local SPCA, or even make Valentines weekend the time to adopt one of those lovable furballs into your home!

Sadly, there are over 19,000 homeless people in the state of Texas alone and over 500,000 in the United States. There are several ways to get involved in helping others get off the streets and back on their feet. Check out these websites for opportunities to volunteer in some of our larger cities:

Let’s make this Valentine’s holiday about more than just the people who can afford to celebrate love — let’s spread the love to those who don’t usually feel it all year round! What have been some of your favorite experiences in giving  back to the community? Share with us in the comments, we would love to hear it!
